The Process

It’s important to us that we understand your requirements and wishes. Here's how we'll work together:

Project Begins

Once you’ve made contact with us, we’ll set up a mutually convenient time for us to come and visit you at your house to both sit down with you to discuss what you would like, whether it be to renovate or start afresh, as well as undertaking a quick measure.
Before your visit, it would be helpful for you to consider some or all of the following questions:

Kitchens/Bathrooms/Laundries:

  • How long have you lived at this house?

  • Have you ever renovated a kitchen/laundry before?
  • Who ultimately will make the final decision in your household with regards to your kitchen/laundry renovation?
  • What do you like about your current kitchen/laundry?
  • What are the key issues you are experiencing in your kitchen/laundry?
  • What frustrates you about your current kitchen/laundry?
  • In an ideal world, what could be better?
  • What features would you like in your ideal kitchen/laundry?
  • Storage requirements: Is shopping done in bulk? Will a new fridge be required now, or should it be allowed for in the future?
  • Access & safety, eg will access to an under bench oven be difficult? Will overhead cupboards be within reach etc?
  • What is your budget? (Note: An idea of your budget minimises wasting your time with a design that doesn’t meet your budget constraints)
  • Are you looking at a laminate, stone, engineered stone, granite, concrete, timber or stainless steel bench top?
  • Do you have any photographs/magazines of designs you particularly like?
  • Would you like Sayer Industries Ltd to manage your entire renovation or new kitchen/laundry build, ie arrange the painter, plumber, electrician, flooring people etc? If so, we will include a project management fee in our quote.
  • Do you want Sayer Industries Ltd to remove and dispose of your existing kitchen/laundry?

Balustrades/Fences/Gates:

  • What type of balustrade/fence/gate are you after, eg frameless, semi frameless or fully framed balustrade? Pedestrian gate/driveway gates?
  • Do you want lockable latches and/or dropbolts?
  • Do you want a face fixed or top fixed balustrade?
  • What are your existing fixings? (Note: Some designs require more fixing than others.)
  • What is your budget?
  • If driveway gates, do you require automation?

Our Quote

We'll contact you within 7-10 days to set up a time for us to meet with you again in person. At this meeting, we’ll present you with our quote, along with 3D drawings (for kitchens & laundries only). We will take the time to explain each aspect of our design & quote and give you the opportunity ask us any questions you might have, as well as refining the design if necessary. We requirement payment of the design fee ($850 +GST for a new kitchen design) at this stage of the process, before releasing any drawings.

Upon Acceptance of our Quote

You will be required to either sign your acceptance of our quote or email your acceptance to us before we book your job into our schedule.  We will also send you a 5% non refundable deposit invoice upon confirmation.

We will be in contact with you a few weeks before your job is installed to arrange a day/time to meet with you to do a more accurate measure and provide you with relevant samples. We will then issue you an invoice for 45% of the total cost, with the remaining balance due within 7 days of the job completion. A date for your work will then be pencilled in, including any removal work.

If you haven’t previously asked us to do so, this is also the time we will advise you as to when you need to arrange other trades, eg plumbers, electricians.

Installation Day

Most kitchens usually take 1-2 days to install, unless you choose a stone, granite, stainless steel or concrete bench top or a glass splashback (these need to be templated once the kitchen cabinetry has been installed and will be installed usually within 2 weeks).   You will need to ensure all necessary plumbing and electrical work is prepared before the installation, otherwise unnecessary delays may result and we reserve the right to charge a fee for any delays that are not of our making. Plumbing and electrical work can then be completed following the installation.

Depending on size and whether or not you choose a glass option, your balustrade/fence/gate will usually take 1 day to install.
